The Four Seasons, Washington, D.C.
Now in its third year, The Wall Street Journal CEO Council brings together 100 of the world's leading CEOs and the most senior policymakers to debate and decide on action plans for addressing key public policy issues. This year's meeting will occur just two weeks after the U.S. midterm elections and against a backdrop of frayed ties between business and government. With those critical trends in mind, we will focus on actions business can take to forge a new partnership with government, to address pressing economic and social problems, and to restore public confidence.
Topic-specific task forces will focus on Next Steps for Health Care; Energy and the Environment: Fresh Approaches; The Future of Global Finance; Creating Sustainable Jobs; and Restoring Confidence in Business.
Membership in The Wall Street Journal CEO Council is by invitation. The participating CEOs lead companies that collectively employ over 5 million people, generate nearly $2 trillion in annual revenues, and represent 11 countries and a diverse cross-section of industries.
The results of our discussions will be published in a special worldwide Journal report of in the U.S., Europe and Asia print editions of The Wall Street Journal and on wsj.com. To view the 2009 CEO Council special report, click here.
